Wind-cold type Method: To expel pathogenic wind and disperse cold by puncturing the points of the Hand-Taiyin, Yangming and Foot-Taiyang channels with the reducing method; and moxibustion is applicable. Prescription: Yingxiang (LI 20), Lieque (Lu 7), Zhizheng (SI 7), Fengmen (UB 12), Fengchi (GB 20), Hegu (LI 4).
1. Wind-cold type: Pathogenic wind-cold blocks in the exterior body because lung Qi fails to spread. Symptoms are discharge and obstruction, itching of throat, sneezing, cough, thin sputum, severe aversion to cold with mild fever, no sweating, general aching, headache, superficial and tense pulse, thin and white tongue coating.
Common cold is a disease frequently seen in the clinic caused by exogenous pathogenic factors which occur mostly in autumn and winter. It is also named "shangfeng" (injured by wind) in Chinese. Main symptoms are nasal obstruction, running nose, sneezing, sore throat, cough, headache, chills and fever.
