Differentiation of asthma-shi or xu

Differentiation 1. Shi type It occurs mostly in winter due to an invasion of exogenous pathogenic wind-cold, causing the cold-humor accumulation in the lung and obstruction in the respiratory tract. Manifestations are dyspnea, wheezing noises, cough with little white and thin sputum or with foamy sputum expelled with difficulty, fear of cold, little or no sweating, and headaches and general aching, white and slippery tongue coating, tense or superficial-tense pulse.
